In 2005, Fort Madison native Dana (Schuldt) Leahy was planning to attend Iowa State University to earn a master's degree in fine arts. She and her husband, John, had two sons in high school, and Leahy decided it was time to pursue more education in her chosen field.
Life had other plans, though, and Leahy learned she had not been accepted into the program. But rather than allow the news to get her down, the stained-glass mosaic artist parlayed her feelings into a project: "Project 66: A Glimpse of the Holy Bible Through Mosaic Art." The 17 completed pieces will be unveiled in an exhibit June 23-24 at St. John United Church of Christ in Fort Madison.
Leahy's parents, John Schuldt and Mary Moore, are longtime members of St. John and were integral in the planning and execution of the exhibit….
