Two Keokuk men were arrested Wednesday on felony and misdemeanor drug charges by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.

Darryl Floyd Azbill, 49, and Robert Harry Mills, 43, both of 412 N. Ninth Street, Keokuk, were arrested at their residence.

Azbill is charged with possession of a controlled substance, second or subsequent offense (methamphetamine), a class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, Azbill faces up to 7 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.

Robert Harry Mills is charged with two counts of delivery of methamphetamine less than five grams, second or subsequent offense, a class C felony with enhancements; possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in excess of five grams, a class B felony; drug tax stamp violation, a class D felony; and maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted, Mills faces up to 92 years in a state correctional facility.

The arrests of Mills and Azbill stem from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that they were involved in the use and distribution of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area.

The Lee County Attorney’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.
