The Fort Madison Fareway store will be open its doors Wednesday, Aug. 30, according to company spokesperson Emily Toribio from the company’s Boone headquarters.
No official time has been set for the ribbon cutting, but the grand opening will be the same day as when customers can start shopping.
The store hours haven’t been reported, but Fareway stores are not open on Sundays.
“The floor tiling is down,” said Toribio, giving the construction update. “We’re working on the remaining electrical. The next step is setting up the refrigerated units and shelving.”
The last section of the parking lot was poured today, she said Wednesday, and work on the sidewalk will begin next week.
Landscaping will be done in August, Toribio said.
